A Festival for All Generations

The Vienna Opera Festival brings opera and concerts to the heart of Vienna, offering audiences unforgettable musical experiences each summer.

Vienna Opera Festival

Founded in 2019, the Wiener Festspiele / Vienna Opera Festival is dedicated to presenting classical and romantic opera masterpieces, alongside concerts that celebrate Vienna’s rich cultural tradition. Each season runs from mid-July to the end of August, with performances in some of the city’s most iconic venues: the Mozarthaus Vienna, Palais Pálffy, MuTh (concert hall of the Vienna Boys’ Choir), and the Musikverein.

Under the artistic direction of Jesús León and the musical leadership of Toby Purser, the Festival features its own orchestra — the Vienna Festival Orchestra — bringing together outstanding musicians to create performances of the highest quality.
